Measuring Your Wrist for Cuff Bracelets:
The best way to get a good fit is to measure the inner circumference of a cuff bracelet you already have that fits you well and look for a bracelet with those dimensions. If you don't have a cuff bracelet to use for comparison, then you can measure your wrist. To do this, use a cloth tape to measure around your wrist where you will wear the bracelet. Use this measurement as your wrist size which corresponds to the size options in the drop-down menu.

Materials

Silver
100% of the silver used in our designs is recycled. Silver is a precious metal, and Pure silver, also called fine silver, is 99.9% pure, often stamped “.999”. Pure silver is too soft for products like jewelry. So, to make fine silver more durable copper is added, creating sterling silver, which is 92.5% silver and 7.5% copper, often stamped “sterling” or “.925”. Our sterling silver only ever contains silver and copper, and never contains other metals like zinc and nickel, which can irritate sensitive skin. Over time, any sterling silver jewelry exposed to air will tarnish, but this tarnish can be easily removed with a polishing cloth.

Copper
Copper is an element and a mineral known for its warm red-orange color, ductility, and malleability. Copper has been used for thousands of years for jewelry and many people find that copper jewelry relieves joint pain from arthritis. When copper is in contact with the skin, it combines with the air and oils in the skin to create a green layer of copper salts, which is harmless and will usually wash off with soap and water. Over time copper will darken to a natural patina if left exposed to air. The best way to keep your copper jewelry from tarnishing is to wear it regularly and store it in an air-tight plastic bag to slow down tarnishing. Otherwise, copper patina can be removed with a polishing cloth.

Brass
The brass in our designs is jeweler's brass. Jewelers brass is an alloy composed of copper and zinc and is a great color match to 14K yellow gold. Jeweler's brass will naturally tarnish when exposed to oxygen, like all copper-based metals. Some people like the patina of tarnished brass and enjoy watching their piece slowly darken in color over time. However, if you prefer the shine of new, it is easy to do by polishing it with a polishing cloth.

Gold Filled Sheet
Gold-Filled is not an alloy. It is a layered material constructed in two or three layers. The core metal is jewelers' brass; though, in the past, sterling silver was sometimes used instead. Single clad gold-filled has all the gold content in a single layer on one side. Double clad material splits the gold content into surface layers on both sides of the material. The gold alloy is bonded to one or both surfaces of the brass core with heat and pressure. The bonded raw material is sold as a sheet or wire to jewelry manufacturers for use in designs.

Care Instructions

Jewelry Care Instructions
Your jewelry is crafted with precious metals that may naturally develop a dark tone, known as tarnish, when exposed to oxygen. Tarnish can be easily managed with regular wear and light polishing.

Please note that as metal artists, we occasionally intentionally darken or patina parts of our pieces to enhance small details or achieve an artistic finish. Exercise caution when cleaning patinaed jewelry, as excessive cleaning or polishing may remove the desired coloration.

To maintain the luster of your jewelry:

Wear: Wear your jewelry often, since the natural oils in your skin help polish the metal and keep it looking shiny. However, avoid contact with harsh chemicals, such as household cleaning products, as they can cause corrosion and tarnish. Remove jewelry before engaging in household chores or swimming.

Storage: When not in use, store your jewelry properly to prevent tarnishing. Air exposure can accelerate tarnishing, so we recommend storing your jewelry in airtight plastic bags with anti-tarnish strips. Additionally, store each piece separately to prevent scratching, especially for soft metals like silver.

Cleaning Your Jewelry:

  • Wash: Clean your jewelry with mild soap and water.
  • Dry: Thoroughly dry your jewelry immediately after washing.
  • Polish: Tarnish can be removed by gently polishing your jewelry with a polishing cloth or a piece of flannel or microfiber.
  • Protection: For added protection, consider applying a light coat of carnauba wax (car wax) following the container instructions.

To assist you in caring for your jewelry, each purchase includes a complementary anti-tarnish strip and polishing cloth.
